Developed by an engineering team at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, this autonomous vehicle successfully completed a series of complex operations at a depth of 4,102.8 meters. During its mission, "Pioneer II" demonstrated its capability to traverse the deep ocean floor, collect samples, and perform mining tasks under extreme pressure. This technological feat signifies a significant leap in China's ability to explore and potentially harness valuable mineral resources from the deep sea, positioning the country at the forefront of this challenging and promising field of engineering.
